Aliya: You know that guy I was just speaking to, he is the nicest guy in the office.
Humaira: And I’ve seen him pray everytime I go to the prayer room, so he’s also a good muslim. You should consider him Aliya.
Aliya: Haha. I was going to set him up with you.
Humaira: Umm thanks but no thanks.
Aliya: Btw, you would never get married to a non-muslim right?
Humaira: Never.
Aliya: Why not?
Humaira: Because its not allowed?
Aliya: Do you know why it isn’t allowed?
Humaira: Because then my children would be non-muslim?
Aliya: And?
Humaira: I don’t know. Its reason enough for me.
Aliya: Because they’re dirty – they’re not circumcised! Trust me that’s a lot of unnecessary bacteria.
Humaira: Umm thanks. I guess.

thank god there wasn’t anyone else in the office, or I would have proved to myself that it was possible for my face to turn a darker shade of red.
